Who We Are
Dayton N. Main Street Alliance (“DNMA,” “we,” “us”) is a volunteer, resident-led group working with neighborhoods along North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. This policy explains what information this website (daytonnmainalliance.com) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. DNMA is not part of the City of Dayton or any other government body.
What We Collect
We collect only what we need to do our work.
- Contact form. Your name, email address, subject and message. A phone number is optional.
- Volunteer sign-up. Your name, email, optional phone, neighborhood, interests, skills and availability, and any emergency contact you choose to give.
- Newsletter and email updates. Your email address and the delivery choices you make (daily, weekly or right away). Subscriptions are handled through Jetpack.
- Event and news submissions. The details you send about an event or story, and your contact information so we can reach you.
- Blight and problem reports. The address or intersection, a description, any photos you attach, and your name and email.
- Ordinary website records. Like most websites, ours keeps basic technical records, such as pages visited, browser and device type, and approximate location, through WordPress, Jetpack site statistics and Google Analytics. These records do not identify you by name.
How We Use It
We use your information to answer you, to send what you signed up for, to run volunteer projects and events, to follow up on reports, and to keep the website working and secure. We use what you send us to build tools for your group, such as a listing, a calendar entry or a way to send us news. We do not use it for advertising.
Reports About Properties and Concerns
If you report a vacant, neglected or unsafe property, or another concern the City handles, we use the address and description to follow up. We pass the location, the description and any photos to the City’s own reporting channel (Dayton Delivers) or the right City office so it can act. We share only what the City needs. Please do not include private details you would not want a City office to see.
Photos and Images
Photos on this site are used with permission or were shared by the people who sent them to us. People attending public events may appear in photos we take. If you appear in a picture and would like it removed, or you own a picture and want credit changed or the picture removed, write to DaytonNMainAlliance@Outlook.com and we will respond promptly. We do not post a child’s full name next to a photo. If you send us photos, please send only pictures you took or have permission to share, and avoid showing faces or license plates when you can.
Links to Other Websites and Services
Our pages link to websites, Facebook pages and other online services run by other people and organizations, and some features (such as maps, videos, forms and social icons) are provided by outside services. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they collect or say. A link is not an endorsement. Please read their policies.
Your Choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. Write to DaytonNMainAlliance@Outlook.com. We will respond as quickly as volunteers can.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them without a parent’s consent. Volunteers under 18 need a parent or guardian’s agreement.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or email is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please do not send us sensitive details such as Social Security numbers or bank information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
